Kraus-Weber Test for Postural Fitness: This was the test I discussed in reference to Bonnie Prudden, President Eisenhower, and the formation of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness.
Military Fitness History: The FM 20-21 (1946) is the source if you want to research proper form for fundamental exercises like push-ups, pull-ups, calisthenics, etc. It’s also an excellent source for gathering ideas and building plans for outdoor obstacle course equipment and much more. The 1943 WAC manual for women is amazing from the patriotic and Noble Purpose perspectives, plus you get some postural and general fitness too.
- “FM 20-21 Field Manual for Men” (US War Department, 1946)
- “FM 35-20 WAC Field Manual for Women” (US War Department, 1943)
Pandemic History: I worked on this for a couple of years. NO American school in the Spanish Flu database shut down for a full semester. The lockdowns ranged from 3-6 weeks for most of the major American cities listed.
