This is the fourth and final video post of our introductory series featuring Philippe Til, translator of George Hebert’s “The Natural Method,” who joins us for an overview of this amazing French movement system and its influences on global and American physical education and fitness.
In this video, Philippe layers the basic fundamental movements with a “backward position” which further builds the Hebert system. The leaning back movements add quite a bit of vestibular (inner ear) challenge. Many people need help with the inner ear so they can improve balance and prevent falls, so this is very practical. Philippe also demonstrates the basic Hebert movements with some simple apparatus like tubing, SmartFlex wand, Swedish Stall Bars, etc.
