Like any complex movement, good running requires proper training–for years and decades not just for a few hours. Ideally, you learn how to not just jog on flat ground, but you learn to run on various surfaces at different speeds and in different directions.
It’s important and more fun to be able to run with speed (maximum velocity), agility (coordinated movement), and quickness (ability to rapidly react and change directions). While fun–these are all important survival skills too.
We offer SAQ workshops for adults and youth that can be tailored to availability. How are they different from other speed camps? We teach movement FIRST. The idea is to move well before going faster and harder. The “simple” form drills are critically important like various skipping patterns, etc. We also teach proper dynamic warm-up which prepares you to start moving with more SAQ during the drills. Linear (straight line) drills are covered before doing all out speed. Learning how to run faster at speed is taught before quickness change of direction drills. It’s all very rational and logical for a reason with us–to help you move better with SAQ as you learn each phase.
Much of getting “old” is slowing down. Much of staying young at advanced ages is your ability to keep moving with some degree of SAQ even if not as explosive as your previous days…keep moving, move well, and move quickly enough to keep yourself alive in the real world…
Note: These are instructor driven for proper technique and safety. While you can print them off and try on your own, the teaching part and learning properly is essential to optimal performance and results.
